Brief history
Bought by the present owner’s family in 1952. There are four totally separate units, split in half by the A14. Two sides are home to the resident and visiting mares. The other unit is used for yearlings and spelling horses out of training. There is a further adjoining isolation yard. At present there are 25 resident mares belonging to the Stud and clients.
Directions
Leave Newmarket on the Cambridge road. Follow signs to Cambridge at the roundabout by the July Racecourse. Take first right hand turn to Swaffham Bulbeck after 1 mile. The stud is 400 yards later on the right hand side.From London take the M11 and then the A11, through Six Mile Bottom (over railway crossing) two miles later take left turn to Swaffham Bulbeck. Continue for one mile until crossroads – go straight over, following sign to Swaffham Bulbeck.The Stud is 400 yards on the right hand side.
Visitors are always welcome at the Stud by appointment.
